The Djerba Declaration launched at Summit de la Francophonie side-event

On the 19 November 2022, francophone partners hosted a side-event, ‘Decriminalisation of poverty, status and activism: what role for the OIF?’, at the 18th Summit of the Organisation de la Francophonie (OIF) in Djerba, Tunisia, launching a series of campaign advocacy actions targeting the OIF. With 88 member countries and 16 global institutional networks mandated to promote peace, democracy and human rights, engaging with the OIF and its member States presents new advocacy opportunities for the Campaign, complimenting ongoing efforts with the Commonwealth. The event saw the launching of the below Djerba Declaration which presents the issue, key recommendations to be considered and a clear call to action for the OIF.
