A new report from the Clooney Foundation for Justice’s TrialWatch initiative, together with the Centre for Human Rights Education, Advice and Assistance (CHREAA) and the University of Southern California Gould School of Law International Human Rights Clinic (USC IHRC), reveals that women incarcerated for violent offences in Malawi are often survivors of gender-based violence who have been criminalised for incidents connected to their own abuse.
