On the 22nd of August 2023, the Detention Justice Forum, a South African civil society coalition of non-governmental organisations and individuals working to ensure the rights and well-being of detainees are respected and upheld, will launch a documentary film entitled I Did Not Ask for This, as well as host a full-day symposium titled Rethinking Justice to Create Alternative Global Futures from 09h00 to 16h00 SAST. This will be a hybrid event hosted at the Ford Foundation offices in Johannesburg, South Africa and on Zoom (link to register below). The DJF would like to invite you to join us in this important conversation and reimagine justice together.
Campaign partners, African Policing Civilian Oversight Forum (APCOF), African Criminal Justice Reform and Lawyers for Human Rights will be discussants and moderators during the symposium.
