Namibia | Same-sex couples find community in their legal challenge

From SALC: Daniel Digashu, one-half of one of the two couples fighting for the right to be recognised by the Namibian state, writes about how they found community in their historic journey to the Supreme Court. The queer people of Namibia (young and not) are fighting not only for their rights but for their very lives. At this hearing, it was a breath of fresh air to see so many young people from the queer community show up for themselves in unity. The couples now await the Namibian Supreme Court’s decision on whether to take a step forward for equality or to maintain the discriminatory and harmful status quo.
