Action by Christians for the Abolition of Torture – Côte d’Ivoire

ACAT Côte d’Ivoire was established in 1990. It is affiliated to FIACAT since 1993. ACAT Côte d’Ivoire’s mission is to raise awareness, educate and train the population on human rights and more particularly on the abolition of torture and the death penalty. In order to reach those goals, ACAT Côte d’Ivoire ensures the improvement of prison conditions by visiting prisons regularly. ACAT Côte d’Ivoire gathers information on cases of torture and other cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment and alerts the international and regional human rights mechanisms.
