Founded in France in 1987 by Abbé Pierre, a politician committed to fighting poverty, the Abbé Pierre Foundation aims to combat all forms of housing exclusion. It finances some 800 associative projects in France every year. And publishes a report on the state of housing exclusion in France, which analyzes public policies and makes recommendations to politcy makers. Since 2015, it has published the annual Overview on housing exclusion in Europe, alongside FEANTSA.
