Sonke Gender Justice: It’s International Sex Workers’ Day, and we still call for an end to discrimination, stigma, violence, and the criminalisation of sex work.

Sex workers deserve dignity, safety, access to healthcare, labour protections, and the full enjoyment of their human rights. Decriminalising sex work is not only a matter of justice but also a vital step toward protecting human rights, reducing gender-based violence, and ensuring that sex workers can access health and safety services without fear or stigma.
